1.Bujumbura - Livingstone and Stanley Place - Resha Center - Bururi - Nile Source.
The southern round trip goes from Bujumbura by the road leading to Rumonge. At a few kilometers from Bujumbura, the tourist will stop at the place where Livingstone met with Stanley in 1871. This is not far from Bujumbura. At 60 kilometers further from Bujumbura, there is a lodging place which they call “Resha Center," the former Mauss castle. There is a good restaurant and it is a nice place for swimming.
The trip continues to Bururi province after having crossed a big forest with monkeys. This is a good opportunity to visit the southern Nile Source at Rutovu where a symbolic pyramid had been built.
2.Bujumbura –Bugarama -Gitega- Karera Falls –Nile source of Rutovu
The principal sights are the National Museum and the craftwares village. The national Museum contains a rich collection of exhibits depicting the Burundi of yesterday and today ; its customs and traditions. Also in Gitega is the Gitega Art School where ceramics, paintings and sculptures are produced. Not far away, at Giheta, similar items are produced by a team of artists. Drummer’s performances, unique of their kind, are also put on in Gitega.
Here too are to be found wickerwork and beads which are much sought-after. Giheta is an artistic center for different works in leather, ceramic ivory, and wood-carvings

3. Bujumbura - Bugarama - Teza - Kayanza - Ngozi – Kirundo.
From Bujumbura to Bugarama, the road is going up a steep hillside before to reach the peach of Congo-Nile. If you happen to look behind at about 10 kilometers from Bujumbura you will have a very nice view of the Bujumbura Capital, with its Lake Tanganika reflecting the sky as a mirror and also the large plain of Imbo which is bordering with the Democratic Republic of Congo.
So, after, Bugarama, there are important tea plantations and the big factory of Teza which is at about 2,666 meters of height. Coffee is grown in Kayanza and Ngozi provinces. Kirundo is the next province after Ngozi.
Kirundo is fantastic place because of its nice lakes COHOHA and RWERU and especially the lake RWIHINDA which is now called, as a surname, the "Birds Lake." In fact, there are many birds which are coming over there from different parts of the world just for a season as if they have simply pointed out for vacation purpose.
4.Gitega National Museum-Ruvubu National Park
Located in Gitega, a large city not far from Burundi’s capital, the National Museum hosts some of the best archival information about the history of the country. You will see the photographs of Burundi’s monarchies and and learn more about them and the country history in general with the content which is sure to inform and entertain.
Ruvubu National Park covers a significant amount of land of about 1.5-10kms on both sides of the Ruvubu River on the eastern coast of Burundi. The Ruvubu National Park was set up in the year 1980 and covers about 500 square kilometers of area. The Ruvubu National Park of Burundi is the homeland of some of the most striking wildlife animals and species of flowers. All these natural beauties make Ruvubu National Park standout among all the other Burundi tourist attractions.

Rusizi National Park is located north-west of Bujumbura against the international frontier with DR Congo. It is made up of two parts ; a strip of flood-plain about 2 km wide and 35 km long beside the east bank of the Rusizi river and, to the south, a smaller area comprising the delta of the Rusizi at the point where it enters Lake Tanganyika. The two parts are separated by the main Bujumbura-Uvira road. The delta is a mixture of islands and channels covered locally by Phragmites and papyrus. An important feature of the northern part of the reserve are the stands of the fire-resistant palm Hyphaene benguellensis ventricosa. Other dominant species are Acacia albida, Balanites aegyptiaca and Euphorbia candelabrum. There are several ponds of varying size in the northern section.
